Tributary by Lisa T. Bergren

I read the first four books in this series before I started blogging, but they are definitely worth the read! You can check out Tributary here.

Rating: [4/5]

***Spoiler alert!***

Summary: Tributary finds the Sienese and the Fiorentini at peace. However, their truce is tense and could shatter at any moment. This peace is threatened by Alessandra, a young Fiorentini girl caught hunting on Sienese land. Lord Greco, believing she was an enemy, attacked her. She fell from her horse and hit her head. The Forellis take her back to the castello and attempt to nurse her back to health. Marcello has promised her father that she will be returned him unharmed. In turn, Alessendra’s father promises that if the Sienese have harmed her in any way, it will mean war once again for the Sienese and the Fiorentini. Greco takes charge of Alessandra, feeling responsible for what happened to her, and sparks begin to fly. Everything is looking good, until Alessandra decides to escape and return to her people on her own time. Unbeknownst to her, they intend to use her as a pawn to start war. Unfortunately, the She-Wolves of Sienna are each handicapped with their own issues-Lia has been unable to draw her bow for the past year, and Gabi has another person to worry about.

Likes: I really enjoyed Tributary. I’ve loved this entire series, actually. I think the strongest aspect of the River of Time is its characters. Each character is different, well-developed, and lovable in their own way. Not to mention the fact that the author has this incredible way of getting the reader horribly invested in the relationships. I also really enjoy all of the female characters. They’re all tough and independent, while still being feminine.

Dislikes: On the whole, there wasn’t really anything I didn’t like about Tributary. It wasn’t my favorite in the series, but it was still enjoyable. At times, the writing seemed a little messier when compared to the other books in the series. It’s also a novella, so it’s significantly shorter, which is disappointing for people like me.

TL;DR: I would definitely recommend Tributary to anyone who enjoys a good romance. They will absolutely not be disappointed. But please read WaterfallCascadeTorrent, and Bourne first!
